Between the last schist foothills of the Escandorgues and the Mediterranean stretches the vineyard of Vins de Pays des Côtes de Thongue. Alignan – Neffies is a group of 140 winegrowers who decided in 2009 to pool their resources in order to offer a complete range of authentic, well-balanced wines. The winegrowers are driven by the strong but simple values of the modern cooperative – solidarity, respect and creativity – values enhanced by a real team spirit, which enriches each stage of the wine production process.
A carefully chosen, high-quality grape variety, with a structure and production methods that ensure product quality. Highly specialized production methods for the various products.
Each wine is a true expression of the winemaker’s vision and the character of their terroir. Discover a selection that embodies their unique approach, from cultivation to vinification.
Located in the historic heart of the world’s largest wine-producing region, the quality of the terroir produces a model of viticulture that combines tradition and modernity.
The best French varieties—Chardonnay, Sauvignon, Muscat, Cabernet, Mourvèdre, Pinot, Cinsault, and Carignan—begin here, where they find a terroir suited to their personalities. The terroir of Alignan du Vent benefits from a Mediterranean climate, a particularly favorable exposure, and the dry north wind that naturally protects the vineyard. The soil is composed of siliceous gravel with medium terraced areas of clayey gravel and lower sandy terraces.
On the south-facing slopes of Neffies, in the sunny garrigue, an exceptional schist terroir allows Syrah and Grenache to express all their aromatic power.
The diversity of the soils requires careful grape variety planting. With a constant focus on quality, the various grape varieties are planted according to the nature of the soil. The symbiosis of the soil and the grape variety allows the wines to better develop and express their qualities, finesse, and aromas.
